About Ectopsocus petersi Smithers, 1978

Ectopsocus petersi is a species of Psocoptera belonging to the Ectopsocidae family. It can be found in Great Britain and Ireland. This species is brownish-orange in color, and closely resembles Ectopsocus briggsi.

This species feeds on a wide range of trees, including alder, ash, beech, birch, bird cherry, blackthorn, cherry laurel, Chinese juniper, elm, hawthorn, hazel, Hebe, ivy, juniper, larch, pine, privet, oak, sallow, spruce, sycamore, sea-buckthorn, and willow. It also feeds on fruits including apple, bramble, horse chestnut, laurel, lime, pear, and rowan. It additionally feeds on other plant matter including rhododendron, bracket fungus, and leaf litter. In England, Ectopsocus petersi also feeds on Buxus, Chrysanthemum, and Dianthus species while flying.
