Ectobius lapponicus, commonly called the dusky cockroach, is a species of cockroach. Its distribution covers Europe, northern Asia (with the exception of China), the northeastern United States, and southeastern Canada. While the genus Ectobius was once thought to have originated in Europe, recent discoveries show it actually originated in North America. The first recorded sightings of Ectobius lapponicus in North America date to 1984.
