About Ecsenius yaeyamaensis (Aoyagi, 1954)
Ecsenius yaeyamaensis is a species of combtooth blenny belonging to the genus Ecsenius. It has several different common names used across regions: it is commonly called the Yaeyama blenny in Guam and Micronesia, the Yaeyama clown blenny in Micronesia, and the Pale-spotted combtooth-blenny in Indonesia. This blenny lives on coral reefs in the western Pacific Ocean and the Indian Ocean. It reaches a maximum total length of 6 centimetres. Members of this species feed primarily on plants, including benthic algae and weeds. They are also sold commercially as aquarium fish.
