Ebenus cretica L. is a perennial flowering plant that can grow to a height of 50 to 100 centimetres, which is equal to 20 to 39 inches. It has composite, pubescent leaves, and produces bright pink or purple flowers arranged in racemes that are 5 to 20 centimetres (2.0 to 7.9 inches) long. Its flowering period runs from late March to June. This species is native to Crete, a Mediterranean island. It grows on rocky hillsides and steep cliffs, at elevations ranging from 0 to 600 metres (0 to 1,969 feet) above sea level.
