About Earias huegeliana Gaede, 1937

Earias perhuegeli, commonly known as the rough bollworm, is a moth species belonging to the family Nolidae. Jeremy Daniel Holloway first formally described this species in 1977. Its range covers the northern two-thirds of Australia, as well as multiple islands in the South Pacific. The wingspan of this moth measures approximately 20 millimeters. Its larvae feed on Gossypium australe, Gossypium populifolium, Abutilon otocarpum, Abelmoschus ficulneus, Hibiscus trionum, Hibiscus panduriformis, Alyogyne hakeifolia, and Adansonia gregorii. The larvae are recognized as a pest of Gossypium hirsutum.
