About Earias cupreoviridis (Walker, 1862)

Adult Earias cupreoviridis have a 21 millimeter wingspan. Their palpi are pinkish, while the head and thorax are pale greenish. The forewings are pale green, with two reddish-brown specks near the end of the cell. The basal section of the costa is suffused with pinkish yellow, and an irregular brownish marginal band runs along the edge with a yellowish inner edge. The abdomen and hindwings are pure white. The caterpillar is pale pinkish brown with olive-green speckles. Its anterior tubercles are orange, and the posterior tubercles are pinkish brown. Jet-black spots are located above the spiracles. Known larval food plants for this species are Abelmoschus esculentus, Diospyros, Gossypium, Grewia tiliaefolia, Corchorus, Hibiscus, Kydia calycina, Malvastrum coromandelianum, Oryza sativa and Sida cordifolia.
