Dyspessa ulula, commonly known as the garlic mottled, is a moth species belonging to the family Cossidae. Its distribution range extends from central and southern Europe, through Russia, to central Asia. It can also be found in Syria, Iran, Iraq, and parts of North Africa. The larvae of this species feed on Allium species, specifically including Allium flavum, Allium vienale, Allium spaerocephalon, and Allium sativum. Larval development of this moth takes multiple years to complete.
