About Dryopteris arguta (Kaulf.) Watt

Dryopteris arguta (Kaulf.) Watt is somewhat variable in appearance. Its leaflets sometimes angle away from the main leaf, creating a ruffled or lacy look, and the toothed leaflets may have bristles at their tips. As noted by C. Michael Hogan, the thin, concave indusia are quite closely spaced and almost completely cover the sporangia.
