The ridged tree frog, scientifically named Dryophytes plicatus, is a species of frog in the Hylidae family that is endemic to Mexico. Its natural habitats include mountainous pine-fir forests at high elevations. At lower elevations, it lives in moderate and low-lying streams and ponds, where it is thought to breed. It can also be found in subtropical or tropical moist montane forests, subtropical or tropical seasonally wet or flooded lowland grassland, rivers, intermittent freshwater marshes, rural gardens, heavily degraded former forests, and ponds.
