Dryophytes eximius, commonly called the mountain tree frog, is a species of frog in the Hylidae family that is endemic to Mexico. Its natural habitats include mesquite grasslands, scrub forests, and pine-oak forests. It is a widely distributed species that faces no major threats. Dryophytes eximius is designated as the state amphibian of Arizona, but as currently circumscribed, this species does not actually occur in Arizona. Dryophytes wrightorum, known as Wright's mountain tree frog, which was previously treated as a synonym of Dryophytes eximius, is the species that occurs in Arizona.
