About Drynaria coronans (Wall. ex Mett.) J.Sm.

Dryanria coronans (Wall. ex Mett.) J.Sm. is a tropical fern species widely distributed across Southeast Asia, ranging from Nepal to Peninsular Malaysia. Like all other members of the Drynaria genus, it grows as an epiphyte. Its specific epithet coronans refers to the species’ circular, crown-like growth habit. It is one of the more commonly cultivated basket fern species grown as a houseplant. It has a thick moisture-absorbing rhizome, and its fronds can reach up to 1.8 metres (5 ft 11 in) in length and 40 centimetres (16 in) in width.
