About Drymodes brunneopygia Gould, 1841

Drymodes brunneopygia is a relatively large, dull-colored robin. Adult individuals measure 19 to 20 centimeters (7.5 to 7.9 inches) in total length, with tail feathers making up roughly one third of this total length. Most of its plumage is grey, with the exception of a dull red tail and black-and-white patterned wings. This passerine has unusually long legs, which it often uses to hop through dense heathland, its native habitat. While moving through this habitat, the species searches for insects and other small invertebrates to eat.
