About Drupadia theda (Felder, 1862)

Drupadia theda, commonly known as the dark posy, is a butterfly species in the lycaenid family. It was described by Cajetan Felder and Rudolf Felder in 1862. This species occurs in the Indomalayan realm. The larvae of Drupadia theda feed on species from the genera Barringtonia, Saraca, Bauhinia, Millettia, Garcinia, Lansium, Ixora (which includes Ixora humilis), Arytera, Pometia and Lepisanthes. The larvae are attended by ants from the genus Crematogaster, including the species Crematogaster diffiformis.
