About Drosera dilatatopetiolaris Kondo
Drosera dilatatopetiolaris Kondo has leaves arranged in a rosette, and commonly produces plantlets that eventually form large clumps over 1 foot (0.3 meters) across. Green petioles emerge from the center of the rosette; they are typically 3–5 mm wide, though their width can vary. Small, round red carnivorous leaves grow at the end of these petioles, and most of these leaves rest on the soil surface. Its inflorescences reach 18 cm (7 in) long, and it produces white flowers from April to May. This species has a diploid chromosome number of 2n = 12. Drosera dilatatopetiolaris grows in damp sandy soils, occurring on higher ground than the related species Drosera petiolaris. It is native to coastal areas near Darwin in the Northern Territory, and the northern Kimberley region of Western Australia.
