Drimys andina (Reiche) R.A.R. & Quezada is an evergreen shrub that reaches 0.5 to 1 meter in both height and width. It has long, oval, leathery leaves. It blooms in summer, producing fragrant white star-shaped flowers that grow in terminal clusters. This species is native to central and southern Chile and southern Argentina. It grows in sub-alpine and sub-antarctic forests between 37°43’ and 41°34’ south latitude.
