About Dracocephalum moldavica L.
Dracocephalum moldavica, commonly known as Moldavian dragonhead, is an annual herbaceous plant. It was first formally described botanically by Linnaeus in Species Plantarum 2:595, published in 1753.
There is no exact record of its full native range, but D. moldavica is confirmed to be native to temperate Asia. Its native distribution includes the Chinese provinces of Gansu, Hebei, Heilongjiang, Henan, Jilin, Liaoning, Inner Mongolia, Shaanxi, Xinjiang and Shanxi; Primorsky Krai, eastern Siberia, and western Siberia in Russia; Tajikistan; and Turkmenistan. It has become naturalized in many areas across Eurasia, and is also cultivated outside its native range as a garden ornamental. It is an introduced species in various parts of the United States, and currently occurs in Connecticut, Nebraska, Vermont, and Wisconsin.
