About Doronicum pardalianches L.

Doronicum pardalianches L., commonly called leopard's-bane, is a species of flowering plant belonging to the family Asteraceae. Like all other species in the genus Doronicum, it is a rhizomatous herbaceous perennial. This plant produces upright stems that grow up to 80 cm (31 inches) in height. It has heart-shaped basal leaves and yellow flowers that typically measure 3–4.5 cm (1.2–1.8 inches) across. It is native to western Europe, and was later introduced to the British Isles. The first recorded occurrence of this species in the British Isles was in Northumberland in 1633.
