Doris fontainii d'Orbigny, 1837 is a species of dorid nudibranch sea slug, which is a marine gastropod mollusk that belongs to the family Dorididae. This species was originally described from material collected in Chile. It has been documented along the Atlantic coast of South America from northern Argentina extending southwards, and along the Pacific coast of South America from Peru extending southwards. It is also recorded as present at Tristan da Cunha.
