About Doriopsilla gemela Gosliner, Schaefer & Millen, 1999

This species of nudibranch reaches a maximum length of 25 mm. Its body colour ranges from dark yellow to orange, and it is always marked with very small opaque white dots. Larger white dots occur on the nudibranch's tubercles, while numerous smaller white dots are scattered across the areas between tubercles. Its rhinophores are orange-yellow, and the rhinophore club has 9 lamellae. Its gills are dark yellow to orange. This species was first described from a specimen collected from the intertidal zone at Hill Street, San Diego, California.
