Distylium racemosum, commonly called the isu tree, is a species of flowering plant that belongs to the family Hamamelidaceae. It is native to subtropical regions of eastern Asia, with a native range that covers central and southern Japan, the Ryukyu Islands, Jeju Island of South Korea, southeastern China, Taiwan, Hainan, and northern Vietnam. Several cultivars of this species exist, including 'Guppy' and the variegated cultivar 'Akebono'.
