About Discophlebia celaena Turner, 1903

Discophlebia celaena, commonly known as the variable stub moth, is a moth species belonging to the family Oenosandridae. This species was first formally described by Alfred Jefferis Turner in 1903. It can be found in the southeastern quarter of Australia. According to 1990 research by Common, the larvae of D. celaena are thought to feed on Eucalyptus species, which matches the feeding habits of other members of the Oenosandridae family. Adult moths of this species are nocturnal, and they are most frequently encountered in forested habitats during the summer. The wingspan of this moth measures approximately 40 mm.
