About Discomyza incurva (Fallén, 1823)
Discomyza incurva (Fallén, 1823) is a species of fly belonging to the family Ephydridae. Adult individuals of this species measure between 2.5 and 3 millimeters in length. It can be found active from July through September, and its preferred habitat is grasslands. It is distributed across the entire Palearctic realm, particularly across all of Europe with a greater presence in Southern Europe. It also occurs in North Africa, Canada, Senegal, Albania, Algeria, Austria, Bulgaria, Cyprus, the Czech Republic, Great Britain, Switzerland, and Germany. This species acts as a parasite of land snails of the genus Helix.
