About Dischistodus prosopotaenia (Bleeker, 1852)

Dischistodus prosopotaenia (Bleeker, 1852) is a species of damselfish, commonly known by the common names honey-head damsel and honey-breast damsel. This species is native to the eastern Indian Ocean and the western Pacific. It can grow up to a maximum length of 17 centimetres (6.7 inches). Most individuals of this fish have a white breast, but a distinct yellow-breasted variant exists that also has a black blotch on each side of its body. Dischistodus prosopotaenia inhabits lagoons and reefs.
