About Diplolepis fructuum (Rubsaamen, 1896)

Diplolepis fructuum, originally published by Rübsaamen in 1895, is a hymenopteran gall wasp that forms galls on wild roses. It is closely related to the species D. rosae and D. mayri. Unlike related species, D. fructuum develops its galls inside the seeds of wild roses, which damages the rose hips. This gall wasp is primarily distributed across the northern regions of the Middle East, the Caucasus region, and the northern shore of the Black Sea.
