About Diplocrepis puniceus (Richardson, 1846)
The orange clingfish, scientifically named Diplocrepis puniceus, is a species of clingfish. It is the only species placed in the genus Diplocrepis, and also the only species belonging to the subfamily Diplocrepinae. This fish is found all around New Zealand, inhabiting rocky coastlines from low tide down to depths of about 5 metres (20 feet). This species reaches a maximum standard length of 12.5 centimetres (4.9 inches).
