About Digitalis lutea L.

Digitalis lutea L. is a short-lived herbaceous perennial or biennial that grows to 1 meter (3.3 feet) tall. Rosettes of leaves produce spikes of tubular pale-yellow flowers in late spring and early summer; these flowers have brown spots on the inside of the corolla. Flowering can continue sporadically from summer into autumn. Like many foxgloves, this species is commonly cultivated in gardens. It self-sows readily and can become weedy. It has been awarded the Royal Horticultural Society's Award of Garden Merit. Like all foxgloves, this plant is toxic when ingested.
