Dictyophorus griseus is a species of grasshopper that belongs to the family Pyrgomorphidae, commonly known as the gaudy grasshoppers. This species is native to tropical Africa. Fully-grown adult Dictyophorus griseus typically have a body length between 5 and 6.5 cm (2.0 to 2.6 inches). Two subspecies of Dictyophorus griseus are currently accepted: Dictyophorus griseus griseus (Reiche & Fairmaire, 1849) and Dictyophorus griseus oberthueri (Bolívar, 1894).
