Dictymia brownii, commonly called the strap fern, is a species of fern that grows in and near rainforest in eastern Australia. It most often grows either hanging from tree branches or directly on rocks. A notable unexpected record exists of this species growing at Berowra, a northern suburb of Sydney. This species was named to honor Robert Brown, a Scottish botanist.
