About Dicrurus remifer (Temminck, 1823)
This species of drongo, Dicrurus remifer, measures approximately 25 to 27.5 centimeters in length when the outermost tail feathers are excluded; total length to the end of the tail is roughly 30 to 40 centimeters. Males have an average weight between 39 and 49 grams, while females average between 35.5 and 44 grams. Its plumage is black, with a distinct bluish metallic gloss. The end of its tail bears long shafts that exceed 50 centimeters in length. It is often mistaken for the greater racket-tailed drongo, but the greater racket-tailed drongo lacks a head crest and has a square-cut tail, which distinguishes the two species.
