Identification: The Sri Lanka drongo (Dicrurus lophorinus Vieillot, 1817) has black plumage that carries a metallic blue or greenish-blue sheen. It features an arching, helmet-like crest, red eyes, and a deeply forked tail. Male and female individuals of this species cannot be distinguished from one another. Distribution: This species occurs throughout the wet zone of the southwestern part of Sri Lanka, ranging from Deduru Oya to Walawe.
