Dicranella heteromalla has been recorded by Jelenc in alluvions of a tributary of Oued Ouadallah and Monts de Tlemcen, and by Boukhatem et al. in El - Kala National Park; it is rare.

About Dicranella heteromalla (Hedw.) Schimp.

RECORDS. Jelenc (1966) reported the species from alluvions of a tributary of the Oued Ouadallah at an altitude of 1100 m. Jelenc (1966, 1967) found it in the Monts de Tlemcen, specifically in the Zariffet forest. Boukhatem et al. (2017) recorded it in the El-Kala National Park, within the Tonga lake watershed. The species is rare.
