About Dicksonia lanata Colenso

Dicksonia lanata Colenso, commonly referred to as stumpy tree fern, tūākura and tūōkura, is a fern species endemic to New Zealand. This species can be easily distinguished from the other native New Zealand Dicksonia species by its long, green or light brown stipes (frond stalks). Dicksonia squarrosa has dark brown stipes, while D. fibrosa has very short stipes. Two subspecies of D. lanata are known to exist.
