About Dichrorampha acuminatana (Lienig & Zeller, 1846)

Dichrorampha acuminatana is a moth species belonging to the family Tortricidae. This species is found in Europe and the Near East. Its wingspan measures 10–15 mm. The costa of the forewings is straighter than that of related species, and the forewing fold extends to one-third of the wing length. The forewing ground colour is dark fuscous with a purplish tinge, and it is more or less obscurely dusted with ochreous. The costa bears faint leaden-metallic streaks on its posterior section. The basal area of the forewing has paler streaks. There is also a broad, straight-edged, paler triangular median dorsal blotch, and three black dots on the middle portion of the termen; these dots are sometimes nearly absent. The termen is straight with only very slight sinuation, and the white line of the cilia is sharply defined. The hindwings are light fuscous, and are darker in females than in males. Fully grown larvae are whitish, with a light brown head and a faintly brownish prothoracic plate. Adult moths fly from May to September. The larvae feed on Leucanthemum vulgare and tansy.
