About Dichomeris inversella (Zeller, 1873)
Dichomeris inversella is a moth species that belongs to the family Gelechiidae. This species was first described by Philipp Christoph Zeller in 1873. It is native to North America, with confirmed recorded populations across a broad region: from Wisconsin and southern Ontario, east to New Jersey, south to Florida, and west to central Texas and Oklahoma. The forewings of adult Dichomeris inversella measure between 6 and 8 mm (0.24–0.31 inches) in length. Across most of the species' range, adult moths are active in flight from May through August. The larvae of this moth feed on plants belonging to the Carya genus.
