About Dichomeris flavocostella (Clemens, 1860)

Dichomeris flavocostella, commonly known as the cream-edged dichomeris moth, is a moth species belonging to the family Gelechiidae. It was first described by James Brackenridge Clemens in 1860. This species is found in North America, with recorded populations ranging from southern Quebec and Maine in the northeast, south to Florida, west to Texas, and north to Manitoba. The wingspan of adult moths measures 15–18 mm. Adult cream-edged dichomeris moths can be seen in flight from May to August. The larvae of this species feed on plants of the Solidago and Aster genera.
