About Dichomeris copa Hodges, 1986

Dichomeris copa, commonly known as the copa dichomeris moth, is a moth species belonging to the family Gelechiidae. It was first described by Ronald W. Hodges in 1986. This species is native to North America, with recorded populations ranging from Wyoming eastward to southern Ontario and Vermont, and southward to southern Illinois and Maryland. The wingspan of adult copa dichomeris moths measures approximately 15 mm. Adult moths are active and can be found in flight from June through September. The larvae of this species feed on plants belonging to the Solidago genus.
