About Dichomeris bilobella (Zeller, 1873)

Dichomeris bilobella, commonly known as the bilobed dichomeris moth, is a species of moth belonging to the family Gelechiidae. It was first described by Philipp Christoph Zeller in 1873. This species is found in North America, with confirmed records ranging from Nova Scotia, southern Quebec, and southern Ontario in the north, down to Maryland, Minnesota, Missouri, and eastern Kansas in the south and west. The wingspan of adult Dichomeris bilobella measures approximately 15 millimeters, or 0.59 inches. Adults of this moth can be seen in flight from May through August. The larvae of Dichomeris bilobella feed on the leaves of Solidago species, including Solidago flexicaulis, as well as Aster species.
