This species of dorid nudibranch is a cryptic species that reaches a maximum length of approximately 100 mm (4 inches). Its mantle is covered in numerous spots, and this spotted pattern extends all the way to the edge of the mantle, which is a defining characteristic of Diaulula odonoghuei. This nudibranch has a distribution that ranges from the Sea of Japan to northern California.
