About Diathrausta harlequinalis Dyar, 1914
Diathrausta harlequinalis, commonly called the harlequin webworm moth, is a moth species belonging to the family Crambidae. This species was originally described by Harrison Gray Dyar Jr. in 1913, and the currently accepted scientific name is Diathrausta harlequinalis Dyar, 1914. It can be found across North America, specifically in the Mexican states, the Canadian provinces of Ontario and Quebec, and the following U.S. states: Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New Mexico, North Carolina, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Texas. This moth has a wingspan measuring 13 millimeters. Adult individuals of this species have been recorded in the wild between the months of March and October.
