Diaperia candida has two common names: silver pygmycudweed and silver rabbit-tobacco. It is a plant species that belongs to the sunflower family. This species is native to the south-central region of the United States, specifically growing in Texas, western Louisiana, southwestern Arkansas, and southeastern Oklahoma. Diaperia candida is an annual herb. Its leaves look silvery because they are covered in woolly hairs that lie flat against the leaf surface. A single individual of this species usually produces several small flower heads. Its flowering period runs from March to June. Habitats where this plant can be found include oak and pine woodlands, prairies, and coastal areas.
