About Dianthus mooiensis B.S.Williams

Dianthus mooiensis B.S.Williams is a spreading or tufted herbaceous perennial plant. Its stems are leafy, and grow in a form ranging from semi-erect to fully upright. The stem-borne leaves are rigid, typically between 2.5 and 3 centimeters long, with a maximum recorded length of 6 centimeters. This species produces small flowers that are usually white in color. The petals are deeply frilly (finely fringed), and extend only 5 millimeters out from the flower; unlike the petals of Dianthus zeyheri, the petal claw does not extend out from the calyx. The calyx itself measures 1.5 to 1.75 centimeters in length, and has several pairs of bracts at its base.
