About Desmoxytes planata (Pocock, 1895)
Desmoxytes planata is a millipede species that belongs to the family Paradoxosomatidae. It is a pantropical species with a broad distribution that developed as a result of human transportation activity. This species is native to the Andaman Islands, and has been introduced to Thailand, the Seychelles, Java, Sri Lanka, and Fiji, and likely also occurs on the Malay Peninsula. Living specimens of Desmoxytes planata are pink in color.
