Deroplatys truncata Guerin-Meneville, 1843 is a species of praying mantis belonging to the family Deroplatyidae. It is commonly known as a dead leaf mantis and is native to Southeast Asia. This species has body coloration that ranges from brown to deep dark brown. Its rear wings have large dark brown to black markings. Its reflectance in the visible and near-infrared portion of the light spectrum matches the reflectance of leaf litter.
