About Derobrachus geminatus LeConte, 1853

Derobrachus geminatus is a species of beetle belonging to the family Cerambycidae. This species was confused with its close relative Derobrachus hovorei for more than 100 years. As a result, essentially all publications before 2007 incorrectly used the name geminatus to refer to the wrong species. The actual true Derobrachus geminatus was previously known under the junior synonym name Derobrachus forreri. This is an uncommon, fairly large species that grows up to 70 mm in length. Its distribution ranges from southern Arizona and Texas in the United States down to Sinaloa and Baja California Sur in Mexico.
