Dermacentor occidentalis, commonly called the Pacific coast tick, is a species of wood tick belonging to the arthropod family Ixodidae. This species occurs in the coastal California biome. It uses a range of host species, including humans. When not engorged with blood, adult Pacific coast ticks measure approximately 4.5 millimeters in length. Their exoskeleton is silvery-gray in color.
