About Depressaria albipunctella Hübner, 1801

Depressaria albipunctella, scientifically described by Hübner in 1801, is a moth species belonging to the family Depressariidae. This species is distributed across most of Europe and also occurs in Libya. The wingspan of adult Depressaria albipunctella ranges from 19 to 22 mm. Adults have one generation per year; they are active from early August to late November, and become active again from March to May after hibernation. The larvae feed on species from the genera Daucus, Conium, Torilis, Anthriscus, Chaerophyllum, Pimpinella and Seseli. Larvae live within a loose silk web they spin on the upper surface of a leaf of their host plant.
