About Dendropsophus triangulum (Günther, 1869)

Dendropsophus triangulum (Günther, 1869), commonly called the triangle treefrog, is a species of frog in the Hylidae family. This species is native to the Amazon Basin of Brazil, Ecuador, and Peru, and it may also occur in Colombia. Confirmed records of Dendropsophus triangulum come from Acre, Amazonas, and Pará in Brazil; Orellana and Sucumbíos in Ecuador; and Cusco and Loreto in Peru. It occurs at altitudes ranging from 37 meters (121 feet) to 387 meters (1,270 feet) above sea level. It can be found in primary and secondary tropical rainforests, around temporary ponds in clearings adjacent to forests, and in aquaculture ponds. For reproduction, Dendropsophus triangulum uses temporary water bodies. Adults lay their eggs on leaves, and after hatching, tadpoles develop in water.
