About Dendropsophus parviceps (Boulenger, 1882)

Dendropsophus parviceps, commonly known as the Sarayacu treefrog, is a species of frog belonging to the family Hylidae. It is distributed across the Amazon Basin in Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, and Venezuela. This species is locally common, and no threats to it are currently known. Sarayacu treefrogs occupy leaves and branches in both primary and secondary tropical rainforests, and can also be found in open areas near forests. They inhabit moist environments including swamps, temporary watercourses, and permanent ponds. This species breeds in temporary bodies of water. Females lay their eggs in water, where tadpoles then complete their development.
