About Dendropsophus bifurcus (Andersson, 1945)

Dendropsophus bifurcus, commonly called the Upper Amazon treefrog, is a species of frog belonging to the family Hylidae. It is native to the upper Amazon Basin, where it occurs across Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, and Peru. This is an abundant, widespread species that lives in bushes within open forest and clearing habitats. It breeds in both permanent and temporary shallow ponds. Females lay their eggs out of water on leaves, and the hatched tadpoles then develop within the water.
