About Dendronotus frondosus (Ascanius, 1774)

This species reaches a maximum body size of 100 mm. It was first described based on material from Norway, and a neotype specimen from Norway has now been designated. Confirmed reports of Dendronotus frondosus come from the northeast and northwest Atlantic Ocean. Records that previously identified this species from the Pacific Ocean are now recognized to actually refer to separate, distinct species.
